Welcome to PM SHRI Schools

PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) in Sikkim is a flagship initiative launched under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to transform selected government schools across the State into centres of excellence that showcase holistic, equitable, inclusive, and future-ready education. While the initiative is centrally sponsored by the Government of India, its implementation in Sikkim is led by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim, ensuring that the national vision is adapted to local priorities, culture, geography, and student needs.

Sikkim has 47 PM SHRI Schools identified across all districts through three selection phases—30 in Phase I, 13 in Phase II, and 4 in Phase VII—spanning primary to senior secondary levels. These institutions serve as lighthouse schools, mentoring other government schools and driving innovation across the State.
